Borders are scars on the face of the planet

I haven't been here for more than two weeks and I'm very sorry about it but I had the most amazing weekend ever. I'm maybe too enthusiastic but when you hear what happened to me you'll understand.

I'm a big fan of Gogol Bordello for a few years now and as I already mentioned in my previous posts I got the tickets for their show in Vienna. Yeah, I couldn't be happier not only because I love their music and all that gipsy punk/rock cultural mix but because of the energy which you can not define using words - you really have to experience it and the most important thing for me about them is the message they wanna spread to people, their kind of ironic but realistic perspective of world and life itself.

However, we somehow ended up in first row and most of the time Eugene Hutz was right in front of me. Yeah, at that moment I tought that was the best part of the show but at the end he jumped down to say hello to his fans. He gave me high five like he did to everyone else but suddenly he leaned towards me with a big smile on his face, gave me a kiss on the cheek and hugged me. I was so shocked that I didn't know how to react, I mean it's not something that happens to me every day.

That was probably the happiest day of my life. It's not about "famous person hugging me" it was more about the man who inspires me - he's a big fighter, not only for his own identity, roots, happiness and freedom but a fighter for human rights and freedom in general. 

And then you relise that kind of person noticed you in the crowd...only you.

Even without the kiss and hug that was my best concert and it will be for a long time. It's hard to keep up with the band in which every member comes from a different culture and uses that in their music.
